How to Get a Real ID
Whether you're looking to upgrade your standard driver's license, or get an enhanced license or a REAL ID card, you will require all the necessary documents. To complete this, you need to make an appointment with the New York Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
If you make an appointment, bring all the documents you have to the DMV so they can be checked and scanned. This will ensure that you don't face any issues if you are trying to use your real driving license for any reason. Remember to bring along an authentic form of identification, such as a passport, birth certificate, or any other documents issued by the state.
If you're applying for an REAL ID or ENHANCED ID you will require two proofs of residency in the state of New York. This can be something like a simple utility bill, credit card statement or pay stubs that show your name and New York address. Any document with the word P.O. box or a nickname on it will not be accepted.

How much will it cost?
